If you can afford to pay privately of course, then you can choose whichever solicitor you wish from any area and if they are available they would be take the matter on. You would be looking at between £25K and above.

Thank you everyone for your kind words of support. I'm feeling alot better now as I still maintain my faith in the Legal System and as the Courts of England and Wales are impartial and independent from the Police, or at least should be, I still have hope.

RF, have you ever heard of Sansbury Douglas? If I were to use Kelcey and Hall, would I have to pay for their services as I cannot afford to pay privately. Have they a proven track record in defending false rape allegations?

I have to answer bail tomorrow and it seems weird that I already know the outcome of the CPS' decision! Will it be too late in switching my solicitors or am I better off keeping the same ones?

        Sorry for all the questions.

I have heard of Sansbury Douglas - as a prison law firm apparently they are not good. I have no idea what they are like re trials.

Ian Kelcey works with public funding. You would need to explain your lack of confidence in S & D and ask if he would be prepared to help you with an application for a transfer of funding.

Am I right in thinking that you have been charged?

Thank you RF. I haven't been formally charged, but my solicitors told me that they are planning to once I answer bail...which is tomorrow. Should I ring Kelcey and Hall tomorrow or maybe explain to the Police that I wish to change my solicitor?

I would ring Kelcey Hall and explain the situation to them. Tell them you are not confident with SD and that if possible you would like them to represent you as they come recommended. Ian Kelcey is the best one if you can get him. If Ian Kelcey can take it on then once they have formally accepted the case you can then write to SD to de-instruct them.

Best ask IK first before you do anything to get his view.

Thank you again RF, I will ring them tomorrow once I get back from Bristol. Hopefully I will be able to switch from SD as I have no idea who they are and only agreed to have them as I was drunk at the time and honestly didn't think it would get this far!

I will let you know what they say tomorrow; hopefully I can give some good news. Thank you again.
