Thanks everyone for your kind messages - Pre sentence interview was a nightmare - hubbie says it was 2 hours of being on trial again with a woman who wasn't interested in anything he had to say - just harping on that he'd been found guilty by a jury and showed no remorse for what he had done - he calmly tried to explain he couldn't be remorsefull for something that didn't happen but she was totally not interested. She told him, that was what would be going in her report.
He is mega depressed this evening and I am trying my hardest to cheer him up - feels like climbing Everest at the moment.
I keep being positive but every event seems to bring another kick in the teeth!!

Hi Sammi - I've yet to hear of one of these being positive for the person. They always seem to be biased.
The mare who did my ex husband's was pleasant, sympathetic and even called me in to have a word with her - the report read as if it was someone else she saw. Wouldn't spit on one if they were on fire. And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

Some probation officers are what I call smiling Rottweillers. They give the impression they are your best friend and others will at least be honest about their feelings, as this one was.
At least you were prepared for that after our chat the other day. Keep me updated re leave to appeal. If you do get leave I'll ask the sol I work for about the chances of having the funding transferred to him as he will leave no stone unturned.People Appealing Convictions of Sexual Offences ~http://www.pacso.co.uk

Hi Sammi
Sorry it was so awful for your hubby. R's was dreadful too - she kept saying he was in denial. When the report came through he was classed as having a "moderate" risk of re-offending - totally ridiculous! Apparently this was because he refused to admit his guilt.
The one he had when he came out of HM hotel was even worse - kept telling him his family must hate him for putting them through this, and complaining that he had only been able to find casual manual work instead of a management role. Even though she had done NOTHING to help him find a job at all!!! She also tried to force him to sign the SOR, even though that wasn't part of his sentence. Dreadful, small-minded woman. And she smelled bad.
There are some good ones around though.
Thinking of you, and hoping that your grounds for appeal are valid.
Hugs

Thanks everyone - RF - I passed on everything we talked about and hubby has asked me to pass on his thanks to you - I have made him realise from our chat that there is hope after this first hurdle and we will then be in a position to use someone else that will do a better job!!! - will keep you updated. I am away form tomorrow until Friday and should have internet access either in the B&B or at the friend I am going to visit.
I can't see a date for his sentence. Would you email me the date and Crown court in case I can find somebody to attend as support?

Sentencing
Hi - After all your support wanted to let you know sentencing happened today and hubby recieved 3 years for something he didn't do!! The judge refused to award compensation or costs so at least I suppose that was something!!
Getting my head round it all but Thank you all so much for all your support.

How interesting that compensation was requested! Plus no SOPO - it sounds like he sentenced below the minimum term (so Crown could try to appeal that - be forewarned) and will be out in 18 months.
Now we strap on our boxing gloves and work on this' ere appeal against conviction.
Don't forget to post on PAFAA as you can say more, being a private forum.

Hi Sammi
I'm so sorry to hear you are now facing a period pf separation. My thoughts and best wishes are with you. It's good news that no compo or costs were given, and that he does not have to do SOPO. Sounds like the judge believed him.
I am so glad RF is helping you, she is a rock and really knows her stuff.
Let me know if there is anything I can do in terms of offering advice about prison visits, sending stuff in, etc. All prisons are different, but if I can help I will.
Hugs,
Saffron

Hi Sammi,
I've not posted previously on your thread as I felt I couldn't offer much in the way of practical advice, but just wanted to say that my thoughts are with you and I'm so glad that RF has got the bit between her teeth, so to speak, on your behalf'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'
