    Hi lookman05,

It's good that you don't want to play on your army background by wearing your service dress and LS makes a very valid point in that it might wind up anyone on the jury who, shall we say, is ethnically diverse (OTOH, if it ever gets that far, it would be perfectly valid for your barrister to bump them on those very grounds)

However, look on this event as a war which you have to win and therefore you need to use all the weapons that you have.

As I said, I don't see this going anywhere, but you need to be prepared. To me your soldiers background and your service experiences in Afganistan are a valid reason for going out with your mates to unwind by having a few beers, and perhaps unwisely having a bit too much to drink and therefore allowing yourself to get into a situation which you would normally avoid (by this I mean a threesome in a room which I suppose was at the root of the girl making a complaint)

It's not unusual to feel suicidal, as many of us will confirm, but don't give up, stay focused, look on this as another mission you have to get through.

Hi Lookman05, I know you must be feeling awful and we all sympathize with you but suicide should be the last thing on your mind, that will make some people think you did it out of guilt, so not really a good option. Think of your family and how they would feel. If needs be PLEASE go and speak to your BSM and explain how you are feeling, if you don't think that is an option how about your welfare office or SAFA? If you want someone impartial ring the Samaritans. Thinking of you, and sending you a prayer

thanks allot and even tho u guys are just like stranger, you have offered me better advice than my duty-solicitor and even people i call friends, i just read 1 of the other member thread and he said he is a cocaine and weed user before he was accused but now he never touches it maybe "what don't kill you can only make you stronger" or "the harder you fall the higher you bounce bk up". Thanks allot for the support n am glad i found this site during this ordeal

          stay strong

lookman05, that's what we are here for, but thank you for your kind words. Always remember you most definitely are not alone. Sometimes it beggars belief the number of people, and the awful situations they have found themselves, that find their way here. Just glad you found your way here, keep coming back and stay strong

Assuming none of the girls are minors, they will consider they knew exactly what they doing when they invited you all back to their house. You will also have the current huge swell of positive public opinion for the army on your side (in fact if you've already been out to Afghanistan you may as well stop worrying now)

The CPS will take all this into consideration when considering whether to charge you. Incidentally were any of your friends also arrested & questioned?

I know you are trying to reassure lookman05 but the truth of the matter is, you cannot know how a jury will deliberate. Plus - as an objective outsider and hypothetical juror - the argument would be put by the Crown that just because the girls invited him back does not mean that he did not go on to rape her.

I've not had a chance to read all of this thread - has LM been charged? If not let pray for an NFA. If he has been charged, hopefully he has instructed a solicitor who is experienced in these matters.

At the end of the day it is down to hard evidence such as DNA, and who is the most credible witness.

              thanks

i haven't been charge yet and am just on bail till 3rd of september, what do you guys think about solicitors? cos am still using the duty solicitor but have never been able to get through to him, what the reception told me is that "you still have 3 months before your bail date" and there is nothing they can do till then. should i wait till i go bk to police station to get a new solicitor or do it now?. On a completely different subject the girl that accuse me was on our camp with 1 of the lads who slept with her on friday night and she got chucked out of camp on saturday morning and she is now banned from coming on camp, this is something am trying to tell the solicitor but he never seems to be available

                do it ASAP

lookman05. please get yourself a solicitor that is used to dealing with this sort of case, ASAP. Do not wait until you go back to the police station. Write down any relevant information that you remember to give to your new SOL. Could the welfare office point you int he right direction? Somebody else on here may be able to point you in the right direction. Keep strong mate.

In fairness to the solicitor, they can only claim fees for their time spent in attending the police station with you, or if you get charged, so they may not do very much for you inbetween times. However, as witsend rightly pointed out, it would be good to get a specialist lined up now. Rights Fighter may be able to advise on a suitable firm.

The information you mentioned above is definitely worth noting as character evidence. Is it documented anywhere; i.e. did the guardroom make a note of her name? If so, it is worth getting a photocopy of this.

I think that you should get yourself a specialist solicitor today - waste no more time - the good ones have contacts in the police and can get more stuff done - don't delay.

If it's the London branch of Tuckers ask for Tim Brown.
