    Update

New solicitor now has the arrest file and I am hoping to see them this week to get a bit of a update from them I hope or at least some advice.

I keep trying to work out what I did wrong - then realise nothing is the answer. If you are innocent then do not give in - I hope they have good news this week and will post on here when I return from the meeting.

thanks 0990 for the upbeat message - you know we need to do more to help people like us/me- I don't know what that more is but we are hated for something we didn;t do - embarrassed even if cleared and NFA'd and harrassed because **** sticks- I will contibute all I can to this site and others - surely this can't be it though there must be more we can do to halt this behaviour and attitude from the CPS - which will hopefully change now a new government is in

Dear constant. Hope that things go well tomorrow. Sorry I can't tell you what happens at bail meeting as we were lucky enough that our sons case was NFA'd days before his bail date. Reading posts we were VERY lucky. Please`keep us all posted, thinking of you.

                  Update as Promised

Well - met the solicitor today - had a good chat regarding the statement I had made and the accusations made against me. She was very confident that this was a rubbish case - I explained that I was prepared for the worse and she explained that the worst case is that I am charged but she was convinced almost adamant that if this did happen - everything is explainable and I would be cleared by a jury. What a huge relief to say the least - anyway now for the bad news - it appears that my bail return date is going to be revised which is not good news for me - she said the police were not very helpful over the phone and had promised her a call which was not forthcoming in terms of an update so she would continue to chase today and revert to me - three months have now passed since arrest, three ****, tense, stomach knotting/churning, crappy months and from what we can gather they have not completed the papers for the CPS or finished the investigation - where else would this sort of delay be acceptable - only the civil service. Other point she mentioned was that she thought if a good CPS lawyer reviewed the case it would not proceed. She said she thought the tone of questioning was almost indicative of the police knowing I had no case to answer too - but she didn't want to second guess the police. She was also unsure if the complainant had been reinterviewed and would try to get some more info - another point to mention, which all goes to the advice on this forum, my new solicitor said she had dealt with my OIC before and thought she was reasonable and she would try to get information from her asap. So the rule works use an experienced lawyer who is used to dealing with plod, the CPS and has access to good barristers who do this thing all the time.

Thats it for now - hope that helps people on this forum - will update when I have more

Thanks for the update Constant. I am so glad that you have belief in your new legal team and that your sol seems to be on the ball.

3 months on bail is pretty much par for the course...ours was 14 weeks, so that's about the same. I hope this gets sorted for you very soon - preferably in the form of an NFA! Fingers crossed for you.

Constant, glad to hear meeting with new sol went well, please hold onto the positive things you were told (but be prepared for the worst). Our sons SOL was spot on when he told us well had nothing to worry about, still doesn't make the waiting any easier. Sorry to hear plod are taking their time, seems par for the course after reading threads on here, keep us posted if you here anything. Fingers crossed with a new SOL on the case, who seems to know what they are doing, your wait will be over before much longer.

Just a quick update - still waiting to hear when bail return has been moved to - for some reason plod has disappeared off the face of the earth. What a complete farce the whole thing is - the darkness still comes in - despite what the lawyer said it did reduce for a period but its still out there and I don't think it will go away for years - always comes in first thing in the morning and whenever I reflect - the numbness is weird - its like a constant hangover.

All those going through similiar I hope it gets better soon and that charges are removed/NFA'd.
