Thanks for your support folks, it really does help to know I'm not alone. 12 months ago if you had asked me if I would enjoy having the house to myself I would have jumped with glee, how things have changed! Sometimes I don't recognize myself as the person I used to be. Hell things can only get better

Sweets! Sweets, I tell you! My f-ing accuser could buy an entire sweetshop with the blood money she got.
Notice how, now she wasn't "raped", the trial is still proceeding on the sexual assault charges instead. If this isn't a textbook example of what a Kangaroo Court is, I don't know what is.
It's okay sweetie, you lied about being raped, we'll forget you're a liar, but don't worry, we'll pin something on the two little ****s.
British justice. What an insult to the word "justice."

I am in two minds about this. I dislike the way the defence barrister put words into the mouth of the 8 year old accuser - "you made it up so you wouldn't get into trouble, didn't you?" (or words to that effect) Leading the witness I believe it's called. I wonder what the barrister's tone of voice was? I suspect she would not have been allowed to use an intimidating tone, but some children tend to agree with adults regardless of what they say. Which leads me to my next point....

....this is a classic example of how someone gets caught up in the wheels of justice. She was afraid of getting into trouble, so she lied to her mum. Then at the police station she was afraid of getting into yet more trouble, so she lied again. The whole thing has become bigger than she could possibly have imagined. And I think it probably started from a bit of pre-teen sexual curiosity. Although having said that, my son is ten and has absolutely no interest in sex at all. In fact he seems to think it's all a bit gross.

I am however astonished that the trial is continuing despite the revelation that she wasn't raped. Is that even allowed?

That's my bone of contention exactly. Once someone has lied, and been shown to have lied, how can any trial continue based around that person? It should be dropped once the lying has been exposed.

I have no doubts whatsoever that the barrister went gently on the girl. The last thing they want is give any reason for her to cry in case it sways the jury, but as we've all seen many will cry at the drop of a hat.

Re your son, make the most of the current disinterest. It'll change, boy will it change.......

Hmm, well our accuser originally claimed she had been raped. then after forensics proved that no sex had taken place, she changed her mind to indecent assault, and the case proceeded on the basis of that.

As for my son...well, he is only ten. Long may his disinterest in sex continue. He is presently too busy with his football team, computer games and books. (forgot to say that his team made it to the district U11 7-a-side cup final, which was played last weekend. They were thrashed 8-0. He was heartbroken - first time they have lost this season!)

That's exactly what I mean about what is so wrong with the system in place. How can it have any integrity if the goalposts are moved once the ball's been kicked?

Saffron. Sorry to hear about your sons team getting thrashed, it's reassuring to know that he has no interest in sex, but as the mother of 2 boys, well grown men now, I know this will change (hopefully not too soon). enjoy things whilst he's young, things seem to harder the older they get

Well folks, quick update... Been to counseling with our son today, she taught him some relaxation techniques, hope it helps as it's been a topsy turvy week again. A young lady expressed an interest in him (obviously she doesn't know what he has been through), and it sent him into a blind panic. Will he ever be able to trust women again? at this point in time I don't know. Off for a week in Devon as of tomorrow.

Have a good holiday and try to relax.

It'll take time for all of you to trust anyone again - this is normal, but hopefully trust will return.

                              Please Help!

Im sorry for jumping in this thred and my heart and thoughts go out to all here. Im devastated in reading the many accounts given of just how easy it is for an accusation to be made and how extremily difficult to prove otherwise. I've been bailed on a rape allegation and given a four week bail date. Its has wrecked my world and the lives of those around me. I would like to post a new thread but deont know how to do it on here - any advice please?

                              Thank you
