i live in california and i was seeing this girl for about few years on and off, we had consensual sex a few times, she is kinda of crazy and on perscription drugs such as xanex and assortment of pills and also drinks alot, we were partying one night, we went out for drinks and then back to her place as usual
she got really drunk gave me a couple of xanex and she took some too and was already drunk and we smoked weed, at this time we passed out I cant really remember much but she is accusing me of rape and has contacted a detective which then called me, i am not sure what to do can anybody help me?

The legal system in the US is very different to ours here in the UK, so I am not really sure what to suggest. However, there are a few basic things you can do to make sure you are as well-prepared as possible.

First of all, if you have known this girl for a while, make sure you keep any SMS messages, emails or online chat correspondence you may have with her. Copy it to a memory stick or disc and keep it.

Write down everything you can remember about the evening in question. Was she being flirtatious? Was anyone else there who can testify that she was flirting with you? Was there anyone else in her house with you when you went back?

How long was it between you passing out and her reporting the "rape"? Has she reported it the police or is the detective she went to a private one? Have you been interviewed?

Get yourself a good lawyer. Choose one that specialises in false allegations of sexual assault. This may come to nothing, but you need to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
