Your solicitor will find out your fate before you have to answer bail. You may be rebailed several times before the CPS charge you as the police try to build a case against you. There is also the possibilty that you will be re-interviewed when you anwer bail. You may be asked not to attend the police station but be given a new bail date over the phone that you have to attend. You wil know all this beforehand.
These people like to take there time, they don’t care about the anxiety that you and your family may be feeling or the hell you are going through.
If you are charged this will be a very quick process, it will probably take under a minute and then you will be released on police bail again maybe with conditions, maybe not.
Do not attend the police station without a solicitor. You will not be put in a police cell when you attend.
Be strong and don’t let the system break you down.
I hope you get a NFA. Good luck.

Is it likely that if the cps have it now that there will be more enquiries to make? also if im charged and re-interviewed is that a positive or negative. of course the charge is negative but exactly would the re-interview be for?
if there is no evidence to support her case and also the three statements (including mine) that support my version of events indicate lies in her version of events will that go in my favour or will they just be interested in the scientific evidence?
sorry guys getting really nervous and scared now its getting close

Hello Macdougal,
With sexual offences the CPS are involved almost from the beginning 'helping' the police with the case.
If you do get a re-interview this suggests the CPS aren't sure and want the police to delve a little further into the 'evidence', or lack of it! Alternatively it may be that your accuser has made fresh allegations which you will be given the opportunity to respond to.
So if you do get a re-interview, this is your opportunity to blow the case out.
Treat it like an exam, think of all the possible questions and have answers prepared. Your solicitor may be able to get prior disclosure of the questions so that you can discuss your replies with him.
The days leading up to the bail date are the worst, we're all there with you, the best of luck.Last edited by Casehardened; 3 February 2010, 06:31 AM.'What doesn't kill you makes you stronger'

Do have your legal rep there - do not answer more than the question is asked - don't try to expand your answer to try and get your point across. Say as little as possible.
This may be just a fishing expedition, in the hopes that you say something they can act on.
Chin up, hold your head high - and don't let them get to you, they'll try everything they can to twist your words against you.
Short, sharp and to the point - no more, no less. And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

If this is a fishing expedition I suggest you do not give alibi evidence or evidence that could cause the accuser to change her story. this happens - some police officers are corrupt enough to tell the accuser your version of events who will then change her statement citing "trauma" as the reason for the "confusion".
Good luck. Please do come back and let us know how you get on.People Appealing Convictions of Sexual Offences ~http://www.pacso.co.uk
