Hey guys, I found this video on youtube when i was going through my ordeal and it recently helped out a freind, at the very least i find it interesting!

It is a video of a lecture given to a group of criminal justice majors by an attorney and a police officer on why not to speak to the police, even if your innocent!

Thanks for posting that. It's helped spark off some other things in my mind that I needed to find out about.

I'll point out for the others though, that the video is 48mins long, and focuses on the US side of things - but it is still worth watching.

The nearest thing to this in the UK is the "no comment" interview. The result of this can attract an adverse inference. In other words if one has nothing to hide then why they one not talk to the police? This is what the jury is told but in practice the police are well versed in drawing WRONG inferences from what is said in interview and things can become twisted and misconstrued.
