    L3 5UZ

UAI is holding its 16th annual conference in the John Foster Building. This excellent venue has once again been generously provided by the Liverpool John Moores University. Please join us after the meeting for a social evening of networking and socialising. The conference is free and open to everyone opposed to Miscarriages of Justice.

    Speakers include: -

Saptal Ram – 21 Years Behind Bars - The Importance of Prisoner Support

Joanne Donnelly - Justice for the Craigavon Two

Professor Alan Jamieson - Director of the Forensic Institute Glasgow

CCRC – Presenting Your Case to the CCRC

Dr Denis Eady & Dr Holly Greenwood Joint Presentation *“Student Projects: The Struggle for Open Justice and Open Minds”

Trudi Benjamin - Jeremy Bamber Campaign

Michelle Nicolson - ‘Without A Voice’ – The Wrongly Convicted

John O – MOJUK Taking Charge of your Case

Profiles of the speakers, can be found here: http://bit.ly/2wmbeac

*The talk will give a bit of context in terms of innocence projects and similar (most don’t use the term ‘innocence project’ these days) and flag up the Open Justice Charter (as featured in the Justice Gap’s Proof booklet) and some other aspects of how the appeal system makes things so hard for projects to make progress. We want to give the message that many of our students appreciate the need for change in the system and put out a plea to those with the potential power and influence (such as the CCRC who will be present) to use that influence to address the crisis in justice that we all face.
