I have just read another thread and it seems I have understated the qualifying threshold for legal aid. ( I did warn you that I don't have much of a clue!)
If you are charged give Harvey Fox at Freemans a ring and he will put you straight:
If you are charged and decide to pay privately, the best of all is Chris Saltrese (details in my tagline) and he uses an absolutely fabulous QC Tania Griffiths. He also uses barristers who are not QCs (cheaper) and all hand picked.

Can you tell me , if I am charged, can I stay with the solicitor I have got at the moment , but ask him to use Tania Griffiths as the barrister ? I have already made one change leaving the first 'police' one and feel swapping around a lot is not a good idea. But if you recommend it I will do it. I also read on here a barrister called Claire Dowse and I had it in my mind to try her if charged . All advice welcome
ALSO can one get an interview with Chris Saltrese for advice but not actually change to him? as I have the feeling Chris is REALLY expensive , but as you say the best. ( my present sol is just a local solicitors criminal solicitor seems OK but I really need a good sol)
Firstly to the author of the story in the link provided - A thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your unfortunate ordeal in such a powerful, well written piece. You should be proud of yourself for overcoming the hard times you have endured, and being able to share it in such a well written moving piece.
The story has got me emotional as it is very very similar to what has happened to me. I hope my result is a favourable one.

Thanks in advance RF
Hi Imsam - i think it depends if you are on legal aid or private, however tania is a QC so would cost more i believe either way. RF could answer properly but I'm guessing.
In terms of Chris's cost i think it depends on case
THANK YOU FALSELY ACCUSED 5 for taking the time and trouble to write such a brilliant blog, I am sure it will be read over and over during the coming years by deeply distressed guys like myself and it will help them get through the agony in some small way, and I am glad of any relief I can get during these agonising months
Also thank you Peter for again, explaining everything so well for me.
I earn more than £50 K a year
Would you advise me to stay with the solicitor have now who I am paying, until I get an NFA or a charge, then change to Chris Saltrese , or stay with my solicitor but recommend one of the barristers from this site, not use the one my solicitor chooses ?
My solicitor is just a local criminal solicitor, but don't think he has any special experience in FA cases
just another thing. If you earn this much you could afford Chris. Ive kept an eye on your posts, please remain calm and not over think things! it could be NFA. however in the mean time ... save money, keep your mind free (gym, sports, socialising), and keep a good support network.
i personally know some of those can be hard like socialising, as i have gone into hibernation somewhat as my friends say! However keeping active has been a big help so please try to keep your mind busy as the original article has said.
It is good that you are gaining knowledge, i hope you have written all details down to a TEE, and hopefully it doesn't go any further.
A very moving story which brought me to tears and got me in touch with some of my own feelings related to my own situation of being falsely accused. As highlighted by the writer, a not guilty verdict is no cause for celebration when you have been through 15 months of trauma and lost so much and all for something you never did!

Sorry just seen this
Tania is a QC and it's unlikely you will get her on legal aid. Anyone thinking about instructing Chris Saltrese would need to speak with him as it varies case to case.

Thanks RF.....not too sure if it matters how long it takes to reply to me, as I fear I have at least a year or more just waiting in this hell.
I am thinking I will leave doing anything until I get charged or NFA'd , from what I glean on here nothing at all can happen until then. Or can it?
