I have been falsely accused of rape and sexual assault. I have used this site to seek advice. I was arrested approximately 2 months ago and questioned with a duty solicitor. I was in such a shocked state and was so confused I decided to make a no comment interview which I was advised to do by the duty solicitor. I was bailed straight away to my home address, under what I suspect are standard conditions, not to approach FA, not to contact her directly or indirectly etc.
I took the advise from here and got myself a specialist solicitor straight away. They appear very good and have experience in the field. Well I attended the police station last week with my solicitor and was expecting to hear some details of the case and what the FA had said in her interviews. To my annoyance I discovered that it takes my local police THREE MONTHS to transcribe interviews. I was so tempted to point out that technology could help them do it faster but I knew this might annoy the OIC. So instead of finding out any information I was rebailed under slightly better conditions. I know I didn't commit any offence and know there will be no forensics because of this. The OIC also said she had more interviews to do with people.
So it will come down to my word against her's like on many cases on here. I cannot understand how she can claim that I sexually assaulted her on 4 occasions and raped her on the last because if I had 1) Why would she stay in contact with me after the supposed first event? 2)Why would she let me back into her flat after the event?
I can tell you that I have my moral code, which includes never having one nights stands, never even kissing a woman without consent let alone anything more and never harming anyone in anyway whatsoever. I suffer from socio-phobia and this has made things so much worse. I have months to wait and feel the pressure is so much.
