He seems to have this svengali-like effect on people. They are aware of his lying and scumbag ways, but it's really bizarre to watch them back up his lies and conniving, even though they know it's lies and conniving. Joking apart - I hope so in this case - cos he didn't do it but then it's not about guilt or innocence is it? It's about whether the conviction is safe or not. This is why the guilty sometimes go free and the innocent lose appeals........

Appellant puts on a brave face. His wife is in a state of course as are his parents. They've flown over from India to attend this appeal and to visit family at the same time

Must be difficult for his parents living so far away but I am glad they will be present for the appeal.

On the subject of audio tapes; the Crown do use them in evidence, even when the defendant didn't know they were being recorded, and they DON'T have to prove that they haven't been tampered with! Sad but true...
