This was an appalling change in the law, I want to blame Jack Straw but could be wrong.

If there is a positive, it is that there is a recognisable difference between evidence that undermines a prosecution or later makes it unsafe in the CoA and evidence that proves innocence beyond a reasonable doubt.

Virtually no one can prove innocence as has been remarked upon on these pages many times before.

As appalling as this law is ( and one wonders how much money this saves the country ) - compensation for wrongful imprisonment is the only area where proving innocence matters. *

      * On reflection, prosecutions for PCJ or WPT would also require some proof of innocence!

        Wrong

It is do wrong that a person who has been falsely accused cannot seek compensation but really, can you get compensation back. Life and memories you cannot get back.
