I've been supporting this young man for around two years. Fortunately his case was dropped days before the trial was due to start.

What an ordeal! I'm glad that the matter is closed, but share the frustration that there is no real resolution, nothing official to make clear that no offence took place.

Those falsely accused deserve to have their names cleared properly.

Pass on my best wishes to him. The poor boy has been through hell for the past two years at the very start of his life. It is shocking that that those in authority and hold the title of specialists (CPS in particular) in their field, seem to have no analytical skills. I am sure that you Rights Fighter have given him much comfort and support as you have to high numbers of people. The challenge for him now will be to not let what has happened to him poison his future. There was a post on this forum which will always stay with me which said (or words to the effect) that once an allegation has been resolved life will never be the same but life might be better. From my experience I have learnt who I can trust and who I can't, a valuable lesson.

Its very hard when you read this to actually even believe it, though I do.

One point the Elgan does seem to miss in his statement though, is that you do have to wonder whether if the investigation had been conducted impartially and expediently whether or not the clearly troubled young lady would still be alive?

The statement was written mainly by his legal rep. He was hardly in a the frame of mind to think about criticising the police on that day. He certainly has elsewhere.
