Not exactly 'News' though it may have made the local papers at the time, but this programme (ITV 8pm 17th March) was about a miscarriage of justice, not an FA of rape, but a wrongful identification and conviction.
What was 'interesting' was that the first appeal against conviction was dismissed, then two separate submissions to the CCRC were turned down but the final appeal which was led by Mark Newby, a solicitor frequently mentioned on this forum, was successful.
This does emphasise the importance of experienced representation.
