  • Cliff Richard Full Interview Loose Women to air today Wed 22 June 16

Just in case anyone would be interested, a heads up that there will be an hour long Loose Women special today covering Cliff's ordeal (UK ITV1 at 12:30pm). They are also covering it on ITV1 'This Morning', and I believe they have spoken about it on Good Morning Britain and Lorraine too.

I think Jeremy Vine is featuring too. I'm afraid there doesn't appear to be much recognition that these allegations are being made against the general population too rather than the rich and famous but at least it's a step in the right direction. Sir Cliff is certainly being very vocal unlike some other celebs who've been FA'd. Hopefully he will pursue both SY Police and the BBC as reported the more awareness of the dire situation faced by 000s the better. I never could have imagined any of this until I found myself in this world.

I watched the programme and Sir Cliff made a reference quite early on to the fact that he was better placed than any 'ordinary' man facing such allegations, to have the resources to defend himself.

The focus at the moment is on his own personal recovery and perhaps suing the police and the BBC, but he also mentioned the possibility of other celebrities and he getting together to campaign for change. It's early days yet, but perhaps he can be contacted at some point in the future and encouraged to learn more about how prevalent this problem is in the general population.

I do hope some of these high profile people do do something. Although I understand their reluctance to put their heads above the parapet. The situation where someone has to prove their innocence rather than the prosecution proving guilt or even that an event actually took place is inhuman.

I feel sorry for Cliff Richard. I think it's absolutely disgusting that the Police told the BBC about the allegations and raid of his home. I actually think the Police are more to blame for breach of confidentiality and damage to his reputation. I hope he does sue the Police. Although his ordeal has been terrible, it does give some publicity about awareness around being falsely accused.

It's in the news today that Cliff will be suing the Police and BBC for misuse of information in relation to coverage of the live raid on his home. I don't blame him at all as it should never have happened.
