"Beyond all reasonable doubt" has now disappeared from the judge's direction. They only have to be "sure". Not "absolutely sure" but "sure".

I am often "sure" that I left my keys in my bag but then found them in my pocket.

The problem is, some people do get so pis*ed they forget their own name! And some men will take advantage of that situation. Obviously no consent can be given in that scenario.

CCTV showed the complainant walking steadily on very high heels, and bending down to pick up a pizza box off the pavement. I couldn't do that stone cold sober wearing little heels, let alone high heels, but that's beside the point. To do that when so drunk you don't know what is going on, seems a bit odd.

Evans and his friend, the guy who charmingly video'd the whole sorry affair through the window, were idiotic although I'd be less polite in relation to the friend.

If the encounter was consensual, but regretted sex, it's difficult to prove (or disprove) so up to 12 complete strangers. Videoing it covertly through a window is a reprehensible act. Not sure if it's a criminal act though. If it's not, in my view it should be.

What are your views on it
I really hope Ched Evans gets justice and can finally move on. And to all those people against him they will have much more than egg on their face.

I'm going through false malicious vindictive rape allegations myself and its a extremely dark place.

And the sad thing about the falsely accused is that our lives and image are tarnished and irreparable forever.... Mean while the vile horrible lying people who make such false allegations are protected by every organisation every authority every law under the sun! And in nearly all cases get away free!!!

Obviously to those who do engage in such terrible crimes such as Rape....they should go to prison and through away the key.

      But we are innocent!!!!!!!!

Can I just ask. I also read Chad Evans hired a private investgator to help in the case. Anyone know if people doing this?

I think anything that helps could be worthwhile

Private investigators can be expensive and there are some charlatans out there. What sort of evidence would you hope a PI could find?

I obviously don't want to put to much on here. We have been given quite a huge amount of information and not knowing if it was completely true we felt maybe it's something that could build an even bigger case.
What amounts are we talking here.... anyone have any ideas of price ranges.

I'd just love to tear these individuals a new one.

If a person doesn't remember whether they consented to having sex or not, in the absence of clear signs of violence or bonafide eye witnesses, I really don't see how 12, 100, or 1,000 people can decide that a criminal offence occured. It's equivalent to trying to get a jury to decide whether an article was willingly lent to someone or if it was stolen. I agree with the above named judge on that point, and I really don't see what all the 'feminist' hoo-ha was about.

That obviously doesn't mean that rape doesn't ever occur in such circumstaces, nor does it mean that people aren't convicted on thin air.

I looked into the Ched Evans case quite closely at the time and since his conviction. One thing I do know is that he used a law firm they had every faith in and had a close relationship with. The firm (and maybe even the solicitor) was the one he used for his contracts and business dealings.
