Woman lied about rape claim because man 'was ignorant to her and called her names,' police say
A Lancaster County woman is facing criminal charges after state police said she made up a rape accusation against a man who "was ignorant to her and called her names."
Amanda Marie Wertz, 26, of Reamstown, reported to investigators that she had been raped in September at a home in Lykens, but later said she was lying, according to a news release from the police.
"She ultimately confessed to making up the rape because after having consensual sex with the male, the male was ignorant to her and called her names," according to the news release that was issued on Wednesday.
Wertz has been charged with fabricating evidence and making false reports to law enforcement.
Information about bail and when a preliminary hearing will be held were not immediately available.
