but we all know that they are corrupt - so many must be quaking in the hobnails waiting to be carted off themselves - Hillsborough - the Miners Strike ....... and probably Jimmy Savile too - in which case a few more may be joining the forum and then they will find out what its like.

Its truly a **** world we live in - ****ed up on so many levels.

[QUOTE=lawlessone2009;33316]Yeah, but the way this program is having its participants picked would mean that the most unjustly treated, those falsely accused and denied the right to prove it, are being completely ignored.

Because they can't prove it...it's just one word against the other and there is still every chance that it COULD be true. The BBC aren't going to risk doing that...especially at the moment.

It annoys me a lot to see people ranting about change and then when someone actually does make a bold step to do something, they get criticised that it's not enough.
If you have better ideas folks, then please do get off your arses and get on with it. Otherwise, instead of being keyboard, armchair warriors, it might be worthwhile to actually commend the efforts that at least the issue is beginning to be known.

WHoever said its the same as 'Rome not being built in a day' is absolutely spot on.

its a hard thing to do - go public. Hedgecroft is the only one I know of.

The general public will never truly believe anyone who says they are innocent - until it happens to them.

They shouldn't NEED to prove anything. Innocent until PROVEN guilty. Even those that are proven innocent may well be guilty! The law doesn't work!

I'm going to be ranting about more than 'change' shortly.

I'm not 'criticising', merely asking the OP to do more. It's a blooming minefield out there and the tyrannical actions of governments over the years will not be changed by one program, we need masses of them. If it's the BBC then it's funded by the licence payer so rather than focusing on **** 'who wants to be a superstar' programs like the commercial channels do why don't they bring us continuous REAL television? An entire channel could be devoted to destroying the current corrupt political system and their twisted legislative nonsense and I BET that it'd have the highest ratings of all time!

The time for real life issues to be resolved is now. People in this country are angry but scared. You only need to look at the governments knee-jerk over-reaction and advertising of the 'rioters' to understand that the government were terrified their free ride was over and were happy to scare the majority of the population away from ever using their minds and telling the government to piss off to some far eastern dictatorship where they belong... I admit the rioters were wrongful in their execution but WHAT else were they meant to do? If you have an issue in this country you can email your MP who will generally ignore you and even if they don't it doesn't go anywhere......

70 million people controlled by a government of 650 MPs and some idiotic unelected Lords.... Nuts... And the 70 million people have absolutely no say in what legislation is passed into existence, how much tax we're willing to pay, what gets built where or what **** gets broadcast to us on TV...

I commend the OP for his/her efforts but still encourage them to take a chance and challenge the system. The BBC is hardly the cutting edge for what it should be, REAL LIFE and education. With globalisation and cheapness it is easy to view all sorts of programming on the internet these days and I generally find it to be more truthful and unbiased than a 30min session of News 24.........

Sorry for coming late to this thread.. just wondering why only under 27 people will be interviewed. Curious why there is a particular age group targeted...when FA I think affects other age groups....more from a researcher's perspective :-)

Yeah... Under 27s seems odd. Just getting started out in life and probably on legal aid...

50 odd years old, mortgage near paid, decent job and getting hit with a MASSIVE legal bill....

I find the whole thing odd... Very tightly selected groups of individuals needed. It's not going to be anywhere near a true reflection of what's going on....

I'm guessing that as it's Radio 1, that's their target audience.

You are criticising the programme without even having heard it and I don't understand that. You're having discussion's that should
                      be made after it's aired.

Surely it's a good thing to get the story out that FA do happen especially to an age group that it's normal to hook up after a night
out that pregnancy and STD's aren't the only danger! Not saying that's the direction the programme will take but if it makes even one person think, then that's a good thing and certainly not odd!

well said Izzy - there's been a lot of negativity on this thread - as long as word gets out there, that's the main thing.

                                I didn't make myself clear, I'll admit

My comment was insinuating that behaviour such as ranting is more likely to get one convicted and he would be better spending his time concentrating on his case
