A REDRUTH man who was falsely accused of rape said the ordeal has destroyed his life. Martin Jepson's eight-month nightmare began when Amanda Moyse, 42, with whom he had a three-day affair, cried rape.
She was last week given a two-year jail sentence, with a second year suspended, after pleading guilty at Truro Crown Court to perverting the course of justice.
Despite being declared innocent, Mr Jepson has lost his house, has no job and suffers from depression. He said: "I would like to say that this nightmare is over for me, however, I cannot say that.

"My life has been totally devastated by the accusation made against me. For four months I was under the threat of having my life destroyed and of being put away for a crime I did not commit.

And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

It's not fair, but at least she got a year in prison, so that's where she is right now.

Makes a change from the usual suspended sentence/£80 fine/caution/slap on the wrist they usually get.
It's a step in the right direction.
