WHo is to blame for the current situation where both false accused and true victims of crime feel they are dealt with unjustly by the juducial in so many cases?
First off you have the Police who would appear to either laugh of accusers or else be hell bent on gaining convictions, CPS who dont appear to do anything much other than progress cases to the next stage and a legal system that as inconsistant as anything you will find in life. You certainly would be hard pressed to find it in business, only accountants could come anywhere near close to what can only be incompetence or inexperience at best for some who consider themselves protectors and defenders of justice.
In many cases one simply cant fault juries as there hardly given a fraction of case details to judge those on trial, however therefore one comes to the crux, the issue - what is or what should a trial represent and consist of, who should be challenged and why.
The simple facts are all too obvious, for those who do their homework or have experience of the system will benefit, those who its their first experience of it, can to strung along thinking things are all in order.
The simple fact is that sexual cases are an anomoly as there isnt a clear distinction in the system between the qualified and the specialists, anyone who has opened their yellow pages to seek a Solicitor would be shocked to find probably NONE state they specialise in these cases, leaving the nieve and ignorant at the mercy and peril of the system. Nor is there a list on the Net anywhere of prefered contacts where others have found them to be satisfactory
The question has to be why is this the case? It surely has to be on purpose as the industry in sex cases one would think is particularly lucrative as approx20% (18k of a population of 84K) of inmates are now sex offenders. However this does not relate to the number of trials, something somewhere is serious wrong with British justice and the Judicials attitude and comittment to justice for those accused of sexual crimes.
