It is fairly well known that there is likely to be a reduction in sentence of 1/3 if the guilty plea is made at the time of arrest but, while there have been several instances recently where folks have considered pleading guilty at the start of their trials, it has not been known how much reduction would given for this.
From a recent (terrorist not SO) trial, the figure appears to be 10%, which really vindicates the general advice that all the members gave!
Not sure though, how a reduction could be applied to an IPP sentence (if this was applicable)
