Should the accused be provided anonymity until found guilty in alleged rape cases?

Should the accused be provided anonymity until found guilty? Interest to hear from others on this.

I know where you're coming from & I completely agree; and so did this government until their proposals for granting anonymity until conviction were scuppered!

In the interests of fairness I will put the opposing view which caused the proposals to be dropped: Once the accused person is charged with rape and his name publicized, other victims who had not previously reported their experience may come forward.

This theory is of course based on the premise that most rapists are multiple offenders, but falls down in instances of false accusations.
