No, I do NOT want the return of the death penalty

This country has shown repeatedly that it is incapable of sheltering any interest in overhauling the judicial system, which is less interested in truth, honesty and the facts than it should be.

The newspapers want to shove their policy of demanding the death penalty down our throats, yet I posted a letter to both the BBC and the Daily Express, pointing out the legal system's failings and why the death penalty should never be reintroduced until such time as the Appeal Court is closed though there being no miscarriages of justice.
Needless to say neither letter was posted.

This is it, the media will not publish your opinion if it doesn't sit with theirs.

So, vote. Those of you who have been FA'd have some idea just what the system thinks of your honesty.
Imagine if your accusation carried the rope as the sentence.
You have a responsibility to ensure this is never allowed to happen.

And this is why not.

The US today executed a clearly innocent man. No DNA, no gun, no physical evidence, "witnesses" recanted, yet he still got convicted.
Despite several attempted appeals, all failed.
Murdered.

Murdered by a State with a bloodlust.

Quite frankly this makes me sick to my stomach. Justice system? What justice system? This is NOT justice - particularly not for either of the murdered men.

Oh the family of the victim were pleased as punch. Pleased that someone was going to die, but they don't seem to care much that it was the wrong person.

I really hope this country doesn't bow to the death penalty mob, as state murders - like this - will happen.
