Well I had hoped I would never be writing this but ......

I registered a few months ago but never posted as I had hoped that we would be one of the lucky ones, however my husband has today been told that he is to be charged with historical rape and sexual assualt. Once I get my head around this I will post a few details, but at the moment it is just spinning.

I know that he will be charged and bailed to appear at crown court in the new year, and although we have been consulting a solicitor, we know realise we need to make sure that we have the right representation. I have seen Gerry McDonald from EBR Attridge mentioned quite alot but not sure if he would cover our area, Berkshire, and whether he takes legal aid. if not can anyone recommend a good solicitor/

Sorry you find yourself here Gerry i think will cover that area and also legal aid but i may be wrong about that best contact him yourself has hub been charged or awaiting charge ?

Did he have a sol with him in interview?

Thanks Kjg, will give him a call tomorrow.

He is due to answer bail on Wednesday and the solicitor that has been advising him was told by the OIC today that he is going to be charged. Unfortuantly he didnt have a solicitor with him at his initial interview as he didnt think he needed one as he is innocent so thought he would just need to give his side of his events ... hindsight is a wonderful thing.
