my name is Claire, and I work for prisonphone ltd which has in turn got me joining loads of forums, facebook and making a facebook group " first time in prison information help and advice"
I work for a new company that is very much trying to lower the rate of self harm and suicide in prisons, its something I have personally become slightly obsessed with as its such a hideous thing to come across.
anyway with so many people in the prison system and being a captive market the prisons charge huge amounts for calls, this means calls often cant be afforded and that's where the stress begins where it ends is just hideous

in Chelmsford prison alone, today I was speaking to one inmate who could easily see 20 self harmers, most of which hadn't self harmed before prison and most of which rarely afford calls home...
such a sad sight.
