  • What happens to a Prisoner Number if successful on appeal?

This is a little something that sprung into my mind.

It's my understanding that once issued a 'prisoner number' remains with the person for life.

Now if you are convicted but later successful on appeal or for arguments sake the conviction is found to be unsafe due to the accuser being found to have 'made it up' then is your prisoner number expunged?

How deep do all these things go? Is it truly issued for life?
    Wow... A signature option!

dunno, can't say as I've thought about it, but I'd have thought it'd be unique.
And God promised men that good and obedient wives would be found in all corners of the world. Then made the world round .... and laughed and laughed and laughed ..

I did my military service and had a service number so it must be the same.
